Retina Foundation Welcomes New Research Associate, Continuing Partnership with SMU

June 29, 2017

Zahra Bassampour, the Retina Foundation’s newest Post-Doctoral Research Associate, is an expert in polymer chemistry, an integral part of our continued investigation of better methods of delivering drug to the eye. While she is new to our office, she has been working with us since 2015 as a graduate student and recently received her doctorate in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University. She is currently working on our drug delivery project through our Clinical Center of Innovation for Age-Related Macular Degeneration collaboration with SMU. Our drug delivery program has already benefited and expanded from collaborating with researchers like Zahra, and we are thrilled to have her join our efforts to tackle age-related macular degeneration.
