The Rosewood Foundation And Retina Foundation Of The Southwest Partner Up Again For “Keeping An Eye On Innovation” Series

Community Outreach September 21, 2018

While baby boomers may complain about the type on menus getting smaller, they’re actually just graduating to the world of “readers.” But some folks are facing far more drastic issues involving vision — pediatric eye conditions, inherited eye diseases and age-related macular degeneration.

To provide the public with the newest cutting-edge research in the world of eye care by renowned leaders, the Retina Foundation of the Southwest partnered up with The Rosewood Foundation this year to launch a free lecture series — “Keeping an Eye on Innovation.”

The issue of sight is of particular importance to The Rosewood Foundation matriarch Caroline Rose Hunt, who has personally dealt with diminishing eyesight for years.

The final two talks of the 2018 series will take place at the Dallas Country Club from 5:30 to 7:30 on

  • Tuesday, October 9 — Dr. Ronald L. Fellman on the topic of glaucoma
  • Thursday, December 6 — Dr. Peter Francis on the topic of retinal diseases

Thanks to the success of its first year, the two foundations have renewed their support for another series of lectures in 2019.
To support the work of the Retina Foundation, Caroline’s son Patrick Sands and his wife Kristy Morgan Sandshave stepped up their involvement, both philanthropically and leadership. Not only have they become Lifetime Members of the Retina Foundation of the Southwest Auxiliary, they will be co-chairing the second annual Visionary Luncheon on Friday, March 1, at the Omni Dallas Hotel.

Suggestion: If you want to attend one of the free lectures, a reservation is required by calling Amy Lobner at 214.363.3911.
