Fogg Charitable Trust Awards $50,000 Grant to the Retina Foundation

Inherited Eye Diseases December 20, 2020

The Edward C. Fogg, III and Lisbeth A. Fogg Charitable Trust recently awarded a grant of $50,000 to the Retina Foundation in support of research for inherited eye diseases. With this grant, the Retina Foundation plans to upgrade our system for measuring the function of rods and cones in the human eye. Rods and cones are the two types of photoreceptor cells found in the retina. It is vital that our researchers measure the function of these cells in our patients in order to track vision loss, measure the rate of disease progression, and help determine if a new treatment is working.

The Retina Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to continue our partnership with the Fogg Charitable Trust to realize our shared goal of helping make the lives of people healthier and more enjoyable. We look forward to continuing to honor the generous spirit of Edward C. and Lisbeth A. Fogg through our advancements in research for inherited eye diseases.
