An esteemed leader in philanthropy, Amy Johnson has implemented transformational change in development practices and community engagement across North Texas and beyond, furthering the missions of the organizations she has served. As the Chief Development Officer for the Retina Foundation, she has played a vital role in securing $7M+ in fundraising to support the Retina Foundation’s mission and research goals. Leading all external relations, Ms. Johnson drives awareness for vision loss conditions such as inherited eye diseases and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) to accelerate fundraising for cutting-edge research.
Throughout her career, Amy Johnson has overseen the development and strategic fundraising initiatives for many notable organizations. She previously served as Chief Development Officer for the Kenneth H. Cooper Institute at Texas Tech University, where she managed a $17M revenue portfolio and secured millions of dollars in funding for the program. Additionally, Ms. Johnson served as VP of Strategic Development for the American Heart Association for over 15 years, where she created and executed multiple revenue-increasing fundraising campaigns.
