Retina Foundation Presents at Annual Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Conference

Clinical Research Coordinator Eric Vasquez presented findings on retinitis pigmentosa as a National Eye Institute Travel Grant recipient.
DALLAS – (June 4, 2026) – The Retina Foundation, a global leader dedicated to preventing vision loss and restoring sight through innovative research and treatment, participated in the annual Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) conference in May.
Among the Foundation’s presenters was Clinical Research Coordinator Eric Vasquez, who received an ARVO Foundation/National Eye Institute Travel Grant. The grant supports scientists in sharing research and collaborating with peers in the vision and ophthalmology community.
At the conference, Vasquez presented “Factors Impacting Relationship Between Photoreceptors Outer Segment Volume and Volumetric Visual Field Sensitivity Indices in Subjects with Retinitis Pigmentosa.” Travel grant recipients are selected based on the potential interest and impact of their research in vision science.
Other Retina Foundation presenters included Dr. Karl Csaky, scientific director of the Molecular Ophthalmology Laboratory and Clinical Center of Innovation for AMD, Dr. Eileen Birch, scientific director of the Crystal Charity Ball Pediatric Vision Laboratory, and Senior Staff Scientist Doris Lambracht-Washington.
