We believe everyone deserves good vision, and we are making a profound difference in the lives of children and adults impacted by vision loss. Our groundbreaking research and clinical trials have one focus in three key areas: patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD), inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) and pediatric eye conditions.
Each year, the Retina Foundation sees infants, children, and adults, referred by their eye care provider, completely free of charge for specialized vision evaluations, genetic testing and counseling, and participation in clinical trials.
Patients travel from across the globe to our facility in Dallas to access cutting-edge research and treatment they cannot get elsewhere from the best doctors and scientists in their field. Our current and past Retina Foundation experts have laid the foundation of retinal research by being the first in so many areas: cutting-edge diagnostics; identification of specific genes and gene mutations related to vision loss; impact of vision loss on child development; and life-changing treatments to save vision.
Our unique structure allows us to take findings directly from the lab to the clinic to accelerate new solutions for vision loss, leading us to be the first to uncover more solutions to vision loss.
Most importantly, we are providing hope backed by science for our patients who are living with devastating eye diseases and disorders.
Rods and cones are the receptors in the retina responsible for sight. They convert light into electrical signals, which are decoded by the vision-processing center of the brain. Just as rods and cones enable sight, the Rods & Cones Foresight Circle enables the Retina Foundation to deliver accelerated solutions to save and preserve vision by contributing valuable financial resources and time. Members receive access to private events with Retina Foundation leadership, invitations to exclusive social engagements and are among the first to learn about the Foundation’s latest innovative research and breakthroughs.
Thanks to members of Rods & Cones, the Retina Foundation will continue to put patients first and accelerate both cutting-edge research and clinical trials to develop new solutions for vision loss.
